 Design story:

In the yoga world, the lotus flower is a symbol of spiritual awakening. Even in the muddiest of waters, the lotus always emanates beauty – a symbol of purity + enlightenment.

This was the primary inspiration behind the Lotus Yoga Mat, as well as the four elements of nature (fire, water, air, earth), which has been incorporated into the design, creating a harmonious balance that mirrors the interconnectedness of life.

Lotus flower: The focal point of this design is a beautiful, sleek lotus flower, symbolizing purity, enlightenment + the journey of spiritual growth. We created a symmetrical design, with soft curves + pointed corners to represent its beauty.

Elements of nature:        

Air: Fostering a sense of lightness + freedom, this element encourages us to connect to the breath + tap into our prana (life force) + purify our bodies from within.        Water: Symbolizing fluidity + the ability to surrender, this element inspires us to embrace our feminine energy, move gracefully + adapt to the ebb and flow of the practice.       

 Fire: Powerful + transformative, this element ignites our inner strength + determination, motivating us to push boundaries and fuel our inner fire during each session.        

Earth: Fostering a sense of grounding, centering + focus, this element serves as a foundation, promoting strength, stability, and a deep connection to the Earth.

Colour Theory: We used a mix of green + blue shades for this yoga mat. We wanted the base to mimic the ocean + a sense of fluidity, so we used random geometric shapes + overlapping layers of aquamarine colours.

The top surface of this yoga mat is made with Microfiber (vegan suede) – a soft + velvety material for a safe + supported practice. The base of the yoga mat is made from natural tree rubber, for its anti-skid + shock absorption properties, ensuring the mat doesn’t slip on any floors.
