Design Story:
We designed this mandala, which translates to ‘circle’ in Sanskrit, with the words connection, home, balance, strength + spirituality in mind.
We used contrasting shapes, line weights + intricate design elements inspired by Islamic architecture + astrology to create the Sun Mandala Yoga Mat.
Sun + moon: Situated right in the center of this mandala, the sun and moon represent the balance between light + dark. The sun radiates energy + vitality, while the moon embodies serenity + introspection. Together, they work harmoniously side by side reflecting a sense of balance within.
Islamic art: Inspired by the beauty of Islamic art, this design features stunning borders + traditional geometric patterns found in Islamic architecture. These intricate designs symbolize unity, order, and the interconnectedness of all things.
Rays of light: We positioned the sun in the center, and the rays around the outer edges, to showcase the inner light that shines through any obstacle or barrier in life. These rays of positivity, which can always be accessed by looking within, inspire confidence, self-love, and a sense of purpose.
Colour theory: We selected a deep grey colour for this yoga mat, as it signifies neutrality, balance + wisdom.
The top surface of this yoga mat is made with Polyurethane (PU) – a super sleek + grippy material for a safe + supported practice. The base of the yoga mat is made from natural tree rubber, for its anti-skid + shock absorption properties, ensuring the mat doesn’t slip on any floors.
